Our work centers on consistent, practical, nonclinical support for youth and the families who care for them. Some program elements are in development; contact us to ask about current availability and eligibility.

Silent Steps Mentoring

Silent Steps is designed to connect youth impacted by foster care with supportive adults who can offer encouragement, consistency, community connections, and practical life skills through transitions.

Mentoring activities may include

Positive relationship-building and regular check-ins
Educational encouragement and goal-setting
Life skills, decision-making, and community activities
Age-appropriate advocacy and connection to resources
Continued contact through placement changes when authorized

Proposed Mentor-to-Adopt Pathway

We are developing an optional pathway for mentors who may be open to adoption if it aligns with a child's wishes, safety, legal status, and permanency plan. Mentoring begins without any promise or expectation of adoption. Any possible adoption would require the involvement and approval of the appropriate child welfare authorities and completion of all applicable screening, training, and legal requirements.

Important: A mentor is not automatically a prospective adoptive parent. Mentoring does not guarantee adoption, confer custody or placement rights, or replace agency and court processes. The pathway is a proposed program component, not a currently guaranteed service.

Family Support & Advocacy

We aim to support foster, biological, kinship, and adoptive families through resource navigation, practical guidance, communication support, and connections to community services. We believe supporting a young person also means supporting the people in their life.

Transition to Independence

We aim to help older youth and young adults impacted by foster care prepare for employment, education, housing-resource navigation, budgeting, and everyday independent living. Availability and eligibility depend on program capacity and partnerships.

Caregiver Education & Training

We plan to offer practical, nonclinical education for caregivers on trauma-informed communication, supporting youth during transitions, building trust, and promoting placement stability. These services do not replace licensed clinical care or required foster parent training.
